Comprehensive Career Coach with a mental health background. Delivers career coaching for college students, recent graduates, and people interested in a career transition, career advancement or pre-retirees who are exploring work after a traditional career. Ensures a holistic and strength-based approach to deepen career insight and expedite a career focus that leads to designing a satisfying and meaningful path forward.
After graduating from college with a BA in Biology, I started my career as a Fish Biologist andI lived in remote Southeast Alaska for 10 years. I developed a unique set of life skills in my 20’s that taught me how to survive and thrive in some of the most challenging situations.
Eventually, I transitioned out of the Fishing Industry and applied my Biology degree to learn Kinesiology, Massage and Yoga and became a Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified Yoga Instructor. I taught Therapeutic Yoga and provided Medical Massage to patients at an Osteopathic Pain Clinic. Working with people in chronic pain sparked my interest in understanding more about mental health and trauma. I then went on to further my studies in alternative healing modalities and received advanced training in the treatment of trauma.
I also earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Trauma and went on to get a dual license as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado. I have since worked with diverse populations of all ages and a variety of ethnic backgrounds providing mental health services for children, adolescents, adult individuals, couples and families.
I have currently transitioned out of working with trauma in the mental health field and enjoy my role as a Professional Coach specializing in life and career development coaching.
From my professional experience and personal interests, I naturally embrace a holistic approach to coaching and training that includes the whole person by addressing their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
I am also an avid road cyclist and get out and ride whenever I’m not on the road training or coaching clients. It’s not uncommon to find me riding 50+ miles and climbing over 4,000 vertical feet on the weekends in the Rocky Mountains.
I love being a coach! Through multiple career transitions myself, I have honed my skills, interests and passion offering a unique perspective that guides you towards designing a life that brings more ideas and creativity, less anxiety about your future and greater confident in building the life you choose.
