In today’s episode, I am speaking with Val Jones, a former professional figure skater and now motivational speaker who shares her knowledge and wisdom of mental toughness. Val is an an expert in overcoming obstacles. Her story starts at age 5 when she started figure skating until she retired due to injuries at 19.

The rigors of skating over those many years put a huge burden on her body. Over a period of 5 years, Val had to endure 5 different major surgeries. Some of these were from the wear and tear of skating, while others were just life throwing her a curveball.

Through it all, Val has learned how to persevere. She will not let these obstacles or others get in her way. Val’s story is far from complete and she continues to Never Give Up.
